Stand-alone storage versus lean-to attached to a barn, shop or shed
Stand-alone containers are great for storing items anywhere you need a little more space. They can be dragged around to the right spot on your property so long as you have equipment that can handle the 5,000
pounds for a 20’ or 9,500 pounds for a 40’ container. If you are worried that Murphy’s Law will kick in and you’ll always need the item in the far end of the container, you can add a roll-up door or a man-door for additional access to it.
Perhaps you really just want a little more space on your barn, shop, tractor shed or pole barn. You can put a container next to it, put a roll-up door between the two so you can easily access the container from your existing barn and have a little more storage space there. You can run electricity in there as well. If you really want to get fancy, you can create a lean-to off of the container to maximize your space.
No matter how you slice (or modify!) it, containers are a great way to have instantly have more storage you know is wind- and water-tight as well as insect- and rodent proof.
